The Grand Palais is closed for renovations and Virgine Viard decided to show her new collection "Coco Niege" in an intimate and cool place.
“I don’t like big rave venues, I prefer that kind of place that is more intimate. Karl was always telling me about the shows he staged in the ’70s with the girls getting dressed on their own in a restaurant in Paris,” she said.
She chose the legendary nightclub "Chez Castel" where Francoise Hardy, Francoise Sagan, Amanda Lear and Mick Jagger spent many hours!
The collection is inspired by Stella Tennant, Chanel's iconic model, and by the 1994 Chanel collection: tweed coats, chiffon, typical Norwegian sweaters, ski boots and voluminous down jackets.
How nice to see the models arrive in the theater, put on make-up, take off and then leave their coat or jacket in the wardrobe of the theater itself.
